The academic ensemble of traditional music “Zvoane Bănățene”

Founded together with The ASSOCIATION FOR BANAT CULTURE, the ensemble promotes traditional music from all ethnographic areas, especially the Banat area.

The particularity of the repertoire performed by the members of ZVOANE BANĂNĂȚENE consists mainly of musical archives with an age of more than a hundred years – the result of the involvement in collecting peasant music by Banat folklorists Tiberiu Brediceanu, Béla Bartók, Sabin V. Drăgoi, Nicolae Ursu – but also newer repertoires, which remain faithful to authentic sounds with distinct particularities that can be included in the national cultural heritage.

The project launched by ethnomusicologist Lucian Emil Roșca – SOUND RESTITUTIONS AND TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATIONS FROM THE ROMANIAN VILLAGE is proving to be a real success, a folklore course on an open stage. The repertoire selected for the recitals and concerts organized in Romania as well as in Budapest, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Tirana, Banja-Luka, Szeged, attracted the attention of specialists and the informed public due to its authenticity and interpretative virtuosity. Being the only traditional music ensemble formed by specialists – our goal is to interpret, restore and restore the sound of the old traditional repertoire, most of which has never been published and performed.

The members of this ensemble are students, doctoral students, academics with research, collection and transcription of musical folklore, alumni members, who in turn transmit traditional music to students, amateurs or professionals:
